A message from Lisa Lee, Innkeeper at The Newport Inn:
I am a New England Yankee, born and raised. I am from New Hampshire and love this beautiful area, even when it's cold! I met my husband eight years ago and our families united, very similar to the "Brady Bunch." Once our last chick left the nest, we moved to Rhode Island to be closer to family.
We spent three years in Newport enjoying the sun, sails and bags of donuts from The Mooring restaurant. Then, my husband and I took a vacation to the Caribbean where we found paradise amongst the clear blue water and the daily 85 degree weather. We ended up staying to manage a small resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
After a year and two hurricanes, Irma and Maria, our northern roots brought us back to Rhode Island. My background is in management, so I took my skills to the Bed and Breakfast industry here in Newport.
This little state is now my home, and while it is small, it has a lot to offer. So many hidden treasures can be found here. Some of my favorite things to do include driving out to the farms of Little Compton, RI, visiting the beautiful beaches there, strolling through downtown Newport to the Jane Pickens theatre and every now and then enjoy a crazy night of dancing at the Newport Blues Café.
Travel, food, fun are what inspire me. I try my best to live, laugh and love every day. I will do my very best to make your stay the best it can be. I want you to feel at home here at the Firehouse Inn and turn your experience from "arriving as strangers" into "leaving as friends."
